Union 3-in-1 Convertible Crib Review – Could This 3-in-1 Crib Match Your Needs Precisely?

My husband and I have always been practical people so we decided to get a 3-in-1 crib for our first baby so that we could use it for years rather than months. A friend recommended the Union 3-in-1 convertible crib, which can be used as a toddler bed and a day bed, and we didn’t contemplate at all before we bought it. Read my review of this model to find out if it could meet your needs and requirements.

Is It Safe?

According to the manufacturer, this 3-in-1 crib is made following U.S. and international safety standards and I have no reason to believe that this statement could be false. It is completely sturdy and all of its sections are firmly secured together. The finish is lead-free, phthalate-free and non-toxic. You can have complete peace of mind that it is safe for your baby.

I’ve noticed that the heads of the bolts are exposed, but they don’t protrude and I cannot see a way in which even the most curious toddler could be hurt by touching them accidently. They are on the outer side of the frame so it’s completely impossible for the child to get into contact with them while sleeping. My baby sleeps like an angel in this crib which is proven by my Angelcare AC401 movement and sound monitor.

Design and Make

The Union 3-in-1 convertible crib has a standard size so any mattress designed for cribs would fit in it. It is made from New Zealand pine wood which, in my opinion, is absolutely beautiful. I just love the coziness and comfort which wood creates.

My favorite design feature of this 3-in-1 crib is the option to set the mattress on four different levels. Initially, we used the highest level so that it was easy for me to pick my baby up and put him down. Now that he’s older and can stand up, we’ve set the mattress at the lowest level to keep him safe inside. The slats are just over two inches apart so he doesn’t feel trapped while being completely safe. One thing which I want to highlight is that even when the mattress is set low, you can still use the room underneath the crib for storage.

Is It Easy to Assemble?

Yes, it is. We assembled this Union 3-in-1 crib in less than half an hour without any hassle whatsoever. All the materials and tools are included in the package so you won’t have to worry about having to borrow a screwdriver from your neighbors. No special skills are required for the assembly, in my opinion.

How the Conversion Works

There is a separate conversion kit which you can use to make this crib into a toddler bed. We’re planning to make the conversion soon and it seems to be as easy as the assembly. I can already see my boy using it as a day bed when he gets older.

Are There Drawbacks?

For me, the only negative thing about this 3-in-1 crib is that you have to buy the conversion kit separately. My advice is for parents not to delay this purchase to ensure that whey will be able to use the furniture piece for a long time to come.

The Cost

The Union 3-in-1 convertible crib typically sells for $129.00, but you can find it for $118.38 on Amazon.

Final Thoughts

With its strong construction, natural wood make and easy assembly, this 3-in-1 crib could be a great choice for families welcoming a new baby. You can expect to use it for years to come and you may even be able to pass it down the family, given how durable it is.
